Rivnuts are designed to be installed or set into place rather than welded or soldered. While some individuals may attempt to weld or solder stainless steel rivet nuts, this is not the intended use for these fasteners. There are other fasteners, such as weld nuts, that are specifically designed for welding.
Typically, we prefer to avoid applying weld or solder to fasteners. We advocate for clean installations, such as those provided by rivet nuts, rivets, or clinch nuts, as these methods do not alter or damage the parent material.
