A rivet nut can be used in plastic. For soft plastics or thin plastics, we recommend the PLUSNUT®, which is a special type of rivet nut developed for plastics. When installed, the PLUSNUT® creates a “plus” looking bulge on the backside, the “plus” expands about 2-4x wider than a regular rivet nut.
